F1 in Schools World Championship

F1 in Schools World Championships, London, September 14-17, 2009.

Students from countries in all four corners of the world recently traveled to the UK to compete in the 2009 F1 in Schools World Championships. This exciting event, with 31 teams (from 20 nations) competing, was held in London from September 14 through the 17th. The United States was represented by three teams – all comprised of members from TSA chapters!
·        Team Hybrid, a collaborative team of TSA members from East Cobb Middle School (Georgia, USA) and students at Lochgelly High School (Scotland)
·        Team Inferno, Patrick Henry High School (Virginia, USA)
·        Pyrrhogaster Racing, James Madison Middle School (Virginia, USA)
Although the USA teams didn’t come away with trophies this year, their members would likely tell you that the event was an unbelievable experience on many fronts  –  from witnessing the British culture, to making international friends, to competing in a high stakes global multidisciplinary challenge – just to name a few.  And, there is always next year…
